Darling has that palm-ball, or whatever he calls it -- we've seen it before -- that backs up a foot or more, it looks like, and that's what gets Larkin the first time. The other time -- what was it, the seventh? -- the pitch just gets away from Darling. He's trying to hold a one-run lead late in the game -- no way he wants to hit anybody. Nobody thought different.
